10 Things to Watch on Netflix During Your Holiday Break

Is there anything more satisfying than spending some quality time with your couch and Netflix during an extended holiday break? No, I didn't think so. Every single time I open up Netflix I end up scrolling for 30 minutes before landing back on The Office for the millionth time. My husband and I joke that we pay $10.99/month to have unlimited access to The Office. To save you from falling into the same trap, here a list of of things you can watch to suit whatever mood you may be in (including some of The Office...for good measure):

To get you in the Christmas spirit

This won't surprise you, but my husband & I love to revisit all of the Christmas episodes of The Office during the holidays. Here are all of the cheery episodes in order of our most to least favorite:

Season 2 - Christmas Party
Season 7 - Classy Christmas
Season 9 - Dwight Christmas
Season 3 - A Benihana Christmas
Season 5 - Moroccan Christmas
Season 6 - Secret Santa
Season 8 - Christmas Wishes

Somebody Feed Phil
(12 episodes over 2 seasons)

This docu-series follows Phil Rosenthal, creator of TV show Somebody Loves Raymond, all around the world on the eating journey of a lifetime. His enthusiasm perfectly matches the jazzy theme song and is completely infectious. Phil's AMAZING parents and guest stars like Tracy Morgan are trickled throughout the episodes which left me both starving and ready to hop on a plane. Season 1 touches down in Bangkok, Saigon, Tel Aviv, Lisbon, New Orleans, and Mexico City. During season 2 he explores Venice, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, Cape Town and New York City. Be sure to fill up on Christmas cookies before tuning into this one!

To give you the giggles when you've had too much family time

American Vandal
(16 episodes over 2 seasons)

American Vandal is a mockumentary that parodies the recent true crime craze. Both seasons cover an absurd "crime" that occurs in a high school and are equal parts hilarious comedy and compelling mystery. I significantly prefer season 2 but it does slightly spoil the first season. If you plan to watch both I would recommend you do so in order - plus who doesn't like to save the best for last?

To teach you a little something

Adam Ruins Everything
(Collection of 20 episodes)

Adam Conover hosts this investigative comedy that delves into the common misconceptions surrounding a multitude topics that run the gamut from restaurants and weddings to nutrition and the internet. The episodes run 20 minutes in length and the perfect balance of funny and interesting.

To give you late 2000's nostalgia

Revisit the Judd Apatow era comedies:

I Love You Man  /  Role Models  /  Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist  /  Zack & Miri Make a Porno

Apatow's career as a director began in 2005 with The 40-Year-Old Virgin and kicked off what ended up being several years worth of quirky comedies (both his own and other's) with a recurring cast of characters (think Jason Segal, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Michael Cera, McLovin). None of these Netflix options belong to Apatow but they are of the same vein and have mostly positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Get ready for some slappin da bass mon!

To mitigate a case of TOO much holiday cheer

Check out my (and basically everyone's) recent Netflix original favorites The Haunting of Hill House and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for a spooky and thrilling holiday treat.
